MAME Background:
We are the home of quality music tuition in the west of Ireland, and we are affordable. We are consistently achieving the highest of results from our students at every level. We believe we can fulfil our mission statement through providing top quality education in music to our students starting at only €10 per lesson.
The Mayo Academy of Musical Excellence is a newly formed entity but already provides lessons to student members in Piano, Guitar, Harp, Singing, Banjo, Mandolin, Violin, Drums, Accordion etc. - the list goes on.
All students are provided with an opportunity to learn a combination of specialities, something that we feel separates us from other music schools and institutions.
MAME boasts a wealth of experience as the principal teacher at the school has more than 30 years experience in music teaching and performance. All the teachers at the academy are highly motivated, educated and qualified and all this shines through in the teaching results, i.e. the progress and success of our students.
The lessons provided are structured in such a way as to ensure that our students get the maximum benefit from each teaching session. We organise and structure every lesson carefully to ensure the maximal benefit for students. Each lesson is designed specifically for the individual student, so they can get the most out of it.
All this research, time and organisation is rewarded when we see students progressing in their studies. The teaching received is definitely a bargain, starting at only €10 per half hour lesson*.
Our students have the choice to sit the examinations offered through the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Associate Board of the Royal Schools of Music etc. or to learn just for fun. Each standardised lesson lasts 30 minutes, but different lesson formats are available. Currently the youngest student studying in the school is 3 years of age and the oldest student studying is 72 years of age.
Nobody is too old or too young to begin to play an instrument or learn about music.

Our music tuition is only available to students willing to consistently try their best as our policy is not to waste your money or our time. Parents are advised that we will only accept students who genuinely want to learn music and have an interest in the subject.
